Maintenance Foreman Mechanical (Heavy Industry)
Zululand KZN
Requirements:
- National Diploma / N6 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Trade Test Certificate in Mechanical Fitting and Turning
- 10+ years’ experience as a supervisor/foreman in heavy engineering
- Strong background in mechanical equipment maintenance, planning, and budgeting
- Advantageous: Experience in the sugar industry, Power Generation, boiler and turbine maintenance
- Proven leadership, quality workmanship, and computer literacy (planned maintenance systems)
- Commitment to housekeeping and workplace safety
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Maintenance Workshop to ensure plant availability and efficient operation
- Oversee mechanical maintenance to standard and within budget
- Track and analyze equipment performance, address inefficiencies and recurring faults
- Use condition-based monitoring for plant maintenance
- Monitor and optimize Bearing Cooling Water (BCW) system
- Maintain a safe, compliant workplace for the team
