About the Role

Our client is seeking a Millwright to join their team in Polokwane, with experience in concrete manufacturing highly advantageous. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing production output and maintaining electrical/electronic equipment to ensure minimum downtime.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and motivate the workforce to achieve best utilisation and efficiency of the plant and materials.
  • Ensure proper raw material control and monitoring to achieve most economical usage throughout the production process.
  • Maintain machines in working order, perform preventative maintenance to avoid loss of time.
  • Perform effective Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance on all sections and divisions.
  • Maintain all electrical/electronic equipment to highest working and safety standards.
  • Responsible for maintenance of curing equipment.
  • Ensure minimum downtime as a result of electrical breakdowns.
  • Fault finding.
  • Ensure production efficiency and maintain high quality standards.
  • Control maintenance stores and related purchasing.
  • Responsible for ordering and receipting of raw materials, electrical spares and equipment.
  • Monitor machine settings to avoid raw material losses.
  • Provide accurate daily production statistics.
  • Maintain planned maintenance system.
  • Accurately record labour hours and ensure company compliance with Department of Manpower requirements.
  • Ensure conformance with OHS Act requirements.
  • Adhere to Company Safety, Personnel and Operational policies.

Requirements

  • Qualified Millwright – Trade Test.
  • Minimum 3 years working experience in a Manufacturing Industry (Production environment).
  • PLC experience will be an advantage.
  • Working experience in 220V and 380V maintenance/electrical panels and control circuits.
  • Competent to work on both HT and LT electrical supplies.
  • Excellent communication skills with all levels.
  • Interface professionally with all levels of employees.
  • Computer Literate in MS Office and Sage.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, objective and analytical.
