Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a talented and motivated Junior Sous Chef to join a prestigious luxury guest house and villa in Franschhoek. This role is ideal for a culinary professional eager to develop their skills in a refined hospitality environment while contributing to exceptional dining experiences.

Package:

• Salary: R10,000 per month
  

• Live-out position
  

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Sous Chef with daily kitchen operations and staff supervision.
  

• Prepare and cook menu items in line with established recipes, quality, and presentation standards.
  

• Oversee food preparation to ensure all quality, hygiene, and safety standards are met.
  

• Support in training and mentoring kitchen staff, encouraging best practices.
  

• Assist with stock control, inventory management, and ordering supplies.
  

• Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and efficiency within the kitchen and storage areas.
  

• Collaborate with the culinary team to create and execute daily specials.
  

• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and food hygiene regulations.
  

Qualifications & Experience:

• Culinary degree or relevant experience in a professional kitchen.
  

• Previous experience as a line cook or similar role is preferred.
  

• Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety, and kitchen best practices.
  

• Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.
  

• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items.
  

• Capable of working in a high-heat, busy kitchen environment.
