About the Opportunity Medical Resources is recruiting on behalf of our client, a reputable medical billing company based in Pretoria North. They are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Medical Billing/Debtor Clerk to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with strong billing knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering accurate and compliant medical billing services. Key Responsibilities: Process and follow up on denied medical claims. Accurately capture patient details and insurance information. Verify insurance claims and submit claims to Medicare and other relevant schemes. Manage accounts receivable and ensure timely collections. Ensure compliance with ICD-10 coding standards and relevant billing regulations. Coordinate with insurance providers and patients to resolve billing discrepancies. Handle confidential patient and financial information with integrity. Support the finance and administration team as required. Qualifications & Requirements: Proven experience in Medical Billing/Debtor positions. Proficiency in medical terminology and strong knowledge of ICD-10 coding. Experience handling insurance claims, including OT & Hearing Aids billing. Skilled in managing denials and effectively resolving billing issues. Strong organizational, administrative, and communication skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team. Prior experience in medical billing or a related field is essential. Knowledge of relevant healthcare regulations and compliance standards. Minimum : High school diploma (Grade 12) or equivalent. Advantageous: Additional certifications in medical billing or coding.
