Job Vacancy: Code 08 Driver

Job Purpose:
To provide reliable, safe, and professional collection and delivery services using a light motor vehicle (Code 08). The driver is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate deliveries while maintaining high standards of customer service and vehicle care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform daily pick-ups and deliveries of parcels in line with company schedules and routes.
• Ensure parcels are handled with care and delivered in good condition.
• Maintain accurate delivery records, including PODs (Proof of Delivery), and obtain required signatures.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues.
• Keep assigned vehicle clean and in good working order.
• Navigate efficiently using GPS, route maps, or delivery apps.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and customers.
• Adhere strictly to traffic laws, road safety, and company delivery protocols.
• Represent the company professionally in client interactions.
• Report any delivery delays, incidents, or vehicle issues promptly.

Minimum Requirements:

• Valid Code 08 Driver’s License
• Minimum of 1-2 years driving experience, preferably in a courier/logistics environment
• Clean driving record with no recent traffic violations
• Able to read and complete delivery documentation accurately
• Physically fit and able to lift and carry parcels (up to 25kg)
• Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification (advantageous)
• Good knowledge of local routes and general road conditions
• Strong time management and communication skills
• Dependable, honest, and customer-service oriented
