Shape the Future with Credible Leadership: Chief Operations Officer (COO) Companies Tribunal, Pretoria

The Companies Tribunal seeks a proven and credible leader to serve as Chief Operations Officer (COO), to oversee
executive, strategic and operational excellence, organisational stability, and strategic oversight.

Purpose of the Role: The COO ensures operational excellence, organisational stability, and strategic oversight.

Key Requirements: South African Citizen A Qualification at NQF Level 9 (Required) PFMA experience is
non-negotiable Understanding financials is crucial Minimum 10 years relevant experience with at least 5 years at Senior/Executive management level Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams (Finance, HR, ICT, Legal, Communications)

In-depth understanding of: Companies Act, 71 of 2008 (especially – provisions on the Companies Tribunals
jurisdiction) Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and Treasury Regulations King IV Report on Corporate
Governance Public Sector Regulations and National Treasury frameworks.

Familiarity with: Dispute resolution, adjudication support, and administrative justice processes Human
resources and organisational development in the public sector Strong skills in stakeholder engagement,
governance, and operational management.

Key Responsibilities: Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of the Tribunal Strengthen
organisational capacity, governance, and performance Build and maintain trust with government, tribunal
members, and stakeholders.

This is a five-year contract opportunity to demonstrate credible leadership at the highest level and shape the
future of the Tribunal.
