Johannesburg South: Laboratory Analyst – FMCG posted by Network Contracting

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct chemical, physical, and microbiological analyses of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments (e.g., HPLC, GC, spectrophotometers, pH meters, balances).
• Perform routine quality control checks in line with company and regulatory requirements.
• Record, interpret, and report test results accurately and timeously.
• Ensure laboratory practices comply with ISO, HACCP, GMP, and food safety standards.
• Participate in internal and external audits; provide technical support for compliance.
• Investigate and report on product quality deviations and non-conformances.
• Maintain laboratory stock, reagents, and consumables inventory.
• Uphold good laboratory practices (GLP), including safety, hygiene, and documentation protocols.

Qualifications & Experience

• National Diploma / Degree in Analytical Chemistry, Food Technology, Biotechnology, or related field.
• Minimum 2–4 years’ laboratory experience in an FMCG, food, or beverage environment.
• Knowledge of food safety, HACCP, GMP, and ISO 17025 requirements.
• Hands-on experience with laboratory instruments and testing methods.
• Strong data analysis, reporting, and documentation skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office; LIMS experience is advantageous.
