Wellington: Welder

Responsibilities: Welding Welding of axle, “axle seats”, “booster clamps” on different types of axle. Welding van “hangers” and “Rocker” boxes on mechanical and air suspensions. Cutting out of kingpins, dishes and rubbing plates of trailers. Cutting off and welding of headboards, tailboards, Conner plate brackets, mudflap brackets, underruns on all makes of trailers Strap of chassis, installment of stiffeners and welding off webb plate. Bending Planning and bending of tailboards, headboards, bull bars, conner plate brackets, spare wheel brackets, mudflap brackets, side rails, back boards, front boards. Tautliners Any repairs to tautliner structures Removal of tautliner roofs. Installation of tautliner roofs. Decks Any welding and repairs to flat decks and tautliners. Grinding of decks. Fiber-glassing of decks. 5. General Any other metal work as required by the directors. The instruction will be give via the supervisor. The workspace must be kept neat and tidy. Cleaning of the workshop, machinery and depot areas. Responsible to wear safety clothing and equipment at all times. Responsible to be on call and be prepared to be standing/ relief for any service department as required. Be prepared to attend to breakdown on the road. Any other reasonable and lawful instruction given by your supervisor.
