About the Role

A leading construction company is seeking a Materials Technician to join their team, conducting field and laboratory testing of construction materials and ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct field and laboratory testing of construction materials such as soil, concrete, asphalt, and aggregates.
  • Perform quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate test records, data sheets, and technical reports.
  • Assist in sampling, compaction, and mix design evaluations for various materials.
  • Support site engineers in verifying material suitability and performance during construction phases.
  • Operate and maintain testing equipment according to calibration and safety standards.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and environmental regulations in all testing and site activities.
  • Collaborate with project teams to identify and resolve material-related issues promptly.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Certificate in Civil Engineering, Materials Testing, or Construction Technology (or equivalent).
  • Proven field and lab testing experience in the construction or infrastructure sector.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, standards, and QA/QC processes.
  • Proficiency in using laboratory and field testing equipment.
  • Ability to interpret test results and communicate findings effectively.
  • Good attention to detail, analytical thinking, and report-writing skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team under strict deadlines.
