Pretoria: Automation Technician

Our client in the Automation industry is looking for a Junior Automation Technician to join their team in Gauteng, Pretoria. Requirements: Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field. or Relevant trade certificate (Electrical, Millwright or Mechatronic). Demonstrated experience in PLC programming and robot programming, ideally in the automotive sector. Experience with the following is highly beneficial: Kuka Robots, Beckhoff and Siemens PLCs Expertise in various programming languages. Robust fault-finding and problem-solving abilities. Understanding of mechanical and electrical installation procedures. Capable of reading and interpreting electrical drawings. Readiness to travel to client sites as required (including abroad for extended periods, e.g., 3 months). Valid drivers license. Capacity to operate in a fast-paced and dynamic setting. Readiness to work overtime when needed. Duties and Responsibilities: Carry out installations of electrical and automation systems. Work closely with the installation team to guarantee project success. Develop and update project documentation and reports. Program and resolve issues in PLCs and robotic systems. Perform fault identification and debugging on automation and robotic systems. Help with mechanical and electrical installations when necessary. Offer mentoring, training, and assistance to junior team members. Combine different automation equipment.
