South Africa: Senior Data Quality Analyst – Global Markets – Johannesburg – up to R550 per hour posted by E-Merge

One of Africa’s largest diversified financial services groups, offering an integrated set of products and services across retail, business, corporate, investment, and wealth banking is looking for a highly analytical and experienced Senior Data Quality Analyst with deep knowledge of financial markets and regulatory frameworks. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in Investment Banking or Capital Markets, with at least 5 years of hands-on experience in managing data quality initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Data Quality Processes: Design, document, and implement procedures ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
• Metrics & Monitoring: Define data quality KPIs and maintain dashboards with alerting mechanisms.
• Workflow Integration: Embed data quality checkpoints into existing business/trading processes.
• Governance & Compliance: Enforce data lineage, attestation, and regulatory frameworks (FMA, EMIR, Dodd-Frank, CFTC).
• Regulatory Research: Track and interpret evolving regulations across South Africa, Africa, and globally.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with trading desks, risk management, data IT teams, and producers.
• Remediation & Resolution: Lead and support initiatives to fix data anomalies.
• Dashboarding & Alerts: Build technical dashboards for ongoing data quality oversight.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, or Information Management.
• 5+ years in Investment Banking/Capital Markets IT & data roles.
• 5-10 years in business and data analysis within Global Markets environment.
• Domain Knowledge: Proficient across Equity, Fixed Income, Credit, FX, Commodities, Interest Rates, Collateral.
• Regulatory Reporting: Hands-on experience with FMA, EMIR, Dodd-Frank, CFTC standards.

• Data Governance Frameworks: Quality dashboards, lineage models, attestation processes (3 years)
• Platforms & Tools: Front Arena, AWS/cloud-based data tools (2 years)
