Job Description

Areas of Responsibilities Project Support Assist in the design and development of civil engineering projects, including roads, bridges, water systems, and buildings. Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications. Contribute to the preparation of project proposals, feasibility studies, and technical reports. Site Investigation and Surveys Conduct site visits and surveys to collect relevant data for project design and planning. Assist with the preparation of site investigation reports and the interpretation of survey results. Consult with other engineering disciplines and specialists (e.g. environmental, OHS etc.) to gather necessary site information. Design and Analysis Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to produce detailed engineering designs and plans. Assist in performing technical analysis to ensure designs meet safety and regulatory standards. Collaborate with senior engineers to ensure designs are in line with project objectives and client requirements. Construction Supervision Support the supervision of construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards. Monitor progress on-site and report on any issues or discrepancies that arise. Ensure that materials and workmanship meet the required quality standards. Calculate quantities for relevant BOQ. Regulatory Compliance Ensure that all designs comply with local, national, and international standards, codes, and regulations. Assist in obtaining necessary permits and approvals from regulatory authorities. Documentation and Reporting Prepare detailed technical documentation, including reports, design calculations, and project specifications. Keep accurate records of project progress, construction activities, and any changes to the original plans. Assist in the preparation of presentations and reports for clients and stakeholders. Health and Safety Adhere to all health and safety regulations during project planning, design, and execution. Support the implementation of safety measures on construction sites to ensure the well-being of all personnel. Team Collaboration Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders. Attend project meetings and provide input where necessary to support project development and execution. Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and external consultants Education, Language & Qualifications Bachelors degree in civil engineering or a related field. Experience Prior internship or work experience in civil engineering (preferred but not required. Knowledge Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D). Knowledge of engineering principles, materials, and construction methods. Basic understanding of project management and construction processes. Skills Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Personal Attributes Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
