A well-established private school in Bloemfontein, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the school’s financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

This role requires strong accounting skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a keen eye for accuracy. Experience in school financial management or a similar educational environment would be an advantage. What are we looking for?
We are looking for someone with the following experience, qualifications and /or skillsets:

• At least a B. Degree or equivalent (3 years), preferably with a major in Accounting plus 5 years relevant experience where such experience includes:

  • Experience in a financial role, or as a Bursar.
  • Experience in Accounting, Cash Flow Management, Debtors Management, and Contract Management (financial element).
  • Experience in Administration and Payroll Management.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Excellent planning, organisational and administrative skills.
• A clear criminal record.

Responsibilities are:

• The day-to-day management of the finances of the school under the direction of the Executive Head and Regional accountant.
• Managing of budgets.
• Monitoring of all income and expenditures relating to internal budgets.
• Preparing financial reports for the Executive Head.
• Assist at school functions when required.
