Job Title: Electrical Draughtsman

Line Manager: Senior Design Engineer
Job Purpose
To provide engineering support services that contribute to meeting operational targets, ensuring optimal equipment availability, compliance, and safety within the area of responsibility.
Section A: Key Performance Areas & Indicators
Engineering Support Services (50%)
Key Activities
- Draft new electrical drawings.
- Ensure ISO 50001 compliance.
- Track and update changes to electrical drawings.
- Conduct studies to determine best practices, designs, and future trends.
- Prepare detailed presentations for the Senior Design Engineer.
Key Performance Indicators
- Electrical drawings are accurate, available, and up to date.
- Documentation and work schedules comply with specifications and standards.
- Core tools are developed, maintained, and managed.
- Research and studies completed (trend analysis).
Continuous Improvement & Projects (20%)
Key Activities
- Initiate continuous improvement initiatives and cost-saving opportunities.
- Keep updated with new developments and technologies within the field.
- Drive and oversee project design from concept to implementation.
- Complete projects on time, within scope, and within budget.
Key Performance Indicators
- Cost-saving initiatives presented and implemented.
- Technology research and benchmarking completed.
- Project plans executed within allocated budgets and timeframes.
Compliance (10%)
Key Activities
- Operate within defined controls and procedures to ensure integrity.
- Identify and monitor risks within the department.
- Assist in maintaining the risk register and report discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance to regulations and policy frameworks to avoid wasteful expenditure.
Key Performance Indicators
- Compliance with internal controls and procedures.
- Risk register maintained with identified risks monitored and reported.
- Full documentation and records available.
- Waste minimized and expenditure controlled.
Cost & Financial Control (10%)
Key Activities
- Contribute to the annual budget preparation process.
- Promote efficient and transparent use of resources.
- Monitor spend vs. budget and report deviations to management.
- Explore opportunities to reduce costs.
Key Performance Indicators
- Accurate input provided for budget preparation.
- Cost-saving initiatives implemented.
- Reduced waste and controlled expenditure.
Customer Service Management (10%)
Key Activities
- Maintain effective relationships with internal and external customers.
- Represent company in meetings with stakeholders.
- Identify and resolve problems creatively and ethically.
- Report stakeholder issues to management.
- Maintain stakeholder relationships in line with policies and legal requirements.
Key Performance Indicators
- High stakeholder and customer satisfaction.
- Compliance with legislation and regulations.
- Quick and effective problem resolution.
- SLA requirements met.

Qualifications
National Diploma Electrical Engineering
Experience – Minimum
Up to 3 years experience in Electrical Drawings/Design within a manufacturing environment
Technical Competencies
- Computer literacy (MS Office and discipline-specific software).
- Knowledge of production processes.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings and installations.
