Main Job Purposes Oversee and manage the maintenance of the toll plazas electrical and mechanical equipment to achieve the maximum availability at the minimum practical cost. Education & Experience (minimum requirements to perform the job): Grade 12 Certificate Electrical Trade Diploma (Red Seal) At least 5 Years experience as a qualified electrician At least 2 years Supervisory Experience Experience within the Toll Industry would be advantageous Valid Unendorsed Code 08 Drivers License Certificate of medical fitness. Required competencies to meet the job outcomes: Fluent in English Excellent Communication Skills (written & oral) Interpersonal relationship skills Financial Skills Self-management Expert knowledge of electromechanical equipment Expert knowledge of the electrical Installations Expert knowledge of generators and UPSs Knowledge of access control systems Knowledge of CCTV Systems Planning and follow through of maintenance activities Basic Computer Literacy Skills Physical Demands & Work Environment: The daily physical demands are those required to work on the route, inside, outside and on top of buildings/ladders. The Technician must drive a motor vehicle on public roads Work in confide spaces A regular amount of overtime and standby duties to be performed. The work environment characteristics are those encountered on a typical highway and at the toll road environment, as well as at office buildings. The work is performed inside and outside buildings. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Manage the deployment of work teams/ contractors to conduct varied work required tasks to ensure maintenance and inspections are carried out. Monitor and ensure that the correct technical performance is achieved Manage the procurement of new components and replacements when required. Manage subordinates and ensure they comply with all procedures and processes required to maintain Toll Plaza equipment to high standards. Develop and maintain functional relationship with Client Representative, Plaza Management, Operational Personnel and Head Office Personnel. Inspection and testing of all portable electrical equipment and rectify on demand Identify and repairs to critical components and systems.
