Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced and passionate Trails Guide to join a prestigious private game reserve in the Sabi Sands. This is a live-in role offered on a fixed-term contract, providing the opportunity to deliver world-class safari experiences in one of South Africas most renowned wilderness areas.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver exceptional safari experiences through guided game drives and bush walks.

• Adhere to Sabi Sands Nature Reserve game drive policies and safety regulations.

• Ensure all guiding equipment, vehicles, and firearms are well maintained and compliant.

• Provide guest hosting, meet-and-greet services, and tailored bush experiences.

• Assist with bush projects and contribute to conservation awareness.

• Maintain efficient radio communication and complete Health & Safety checklists.

• Uphold high standards of guest interaction, ensuring a personalised and memorable experience.

Qualifications & Experience:

• South African citizen.

• 35 years experience guiding in a 5-star lodge environment.

• FGASA NQ4 or Professional Trails Guide qualification with VPDA.

• NDT registered.

• Valid drivers licence with PrDP.

• Valid First Aid Certificate.

• Rifle accreditations and ARH.

• Astronomy knowledge advantageous.

• Skilled in off-road driving of 4×4 vehicles.

• Passionate about wildlife, conservation, and guest service.

• Strong organisational and planning skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

• Ability to anticipate guest needs and provide thoughtful touches.

• Reliable, professional, and detail-oriented.

• Confident, sociable, and comfortable hosting guests.

• Good knowledge of vehicle maintenance, stock control, and basic computer literacy.

• Patient, culturally sensitive, and a team player.

• Well-presented with a strong sense of personal pride and hygiene.

Package & Conditions:

• 4-month fixed-term contract (October 2025 February 2026).

• Live-in role with basic furnished accommodation.

• R1,825 monthly food allowance in addition to salary.

• Uniform provided.

• Gratuities left by guests.

• Leave cycle: 4 weeks on / 2 weeks off.
