Johannesburg: DevOps and Infrastructure Lead

Youll lead a small team, implement Infrastructure-as-Code, drive automation, and embed observability practices while ensuring business continuity and compliance with ISO standards. Key Responsibilities Lead design, automation, and lifecycle management of hosting environments across AWS and on-premise infrastructure Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Ansible) for automated deployments Establish monitoring and observability frameworks to maintain 99.7% uptime Collaborate with development teams to support CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and release automation Enforce ISO 27001:2022 technical controls and secure configurations Manage access reviews, patching cycles, and vulnerability remediation Oversee AWS services (EC2, VPC, Fargate, RDS, SQS) and on-premise systems (Linux, NGINX, MySQL, MongoDB) Maintain domains, DNS, and MS365 environments Drive documentation-first culture with SOPs and architecture diagrams Mentor and lead the Systems Administration team, fostering accountability and innovation Job Experience and Skills Required Education: Formal tertiary qualification in IT or related field advantageous Certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, SysOps Administrator, ITIL, or ISO27001 Lead Implementer preferred Experience: Minimum 7 years in infrastructure or system administration Minimum 3 years in a leadership role Minimum 2 years working with AWS and DevOps practices Experience with ISO27001 implementation and compliance preferred Demonstrable experience in infrastructure automation (Terraform, Ansible, scripting) Familiarity with CAB processes, patching cycles, and disaster recovery frameworks Skills: Strategic understanding of infrastructure and DevOps principles Strong knowledge of automation, observability, and cloud infrastructure Excellent communication and documentation skills Ability to balance operational stability with innovation Apply now!
