Job Title: Accountant Location: Garsfontein, Pretoria East Type: Full-Time | Office-Based Working Hours: 08:00 17:00 (1-hour lunch break) Salary: Market-related monthly CTC Benefits: Pension Fund Included Start Date: ASAP in the New Year Our client, a reputable pharmacy group, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to oversee their financial operations. This role will suit someone with completed articles, strong technical accounting skills, and experience collaborating with auditors. You will also be required to lead a small finance team and support the business with accurate reporting and insights. Key Responsibilities Manage day-to-day accounting operations and oversee a small finance team Ensure full compliance with statutory requirements, including SARS and CIPC submissions Implement, refine, and enforce accounting procedures and internal controls Prepare timely and accurate management accounts, budgets, and forecasts Collaborate with external auditors and assist during annual audits Perform annual VAT reconciliations and other statutory financial reporting Oversee stock accounting, reconciliations, and variance analysis (if applicable) Provide financial insights, reporting, and recommendations to senior management Support continuous improvement of accounting systems and processes Minimum Requirements Matric / Grade 12 Qualified Accountant (CA / SAIPA preferred) with completed articles Proven experience managing or supervising a team Advanced Excel and strong analytical skills Experience working directly with auditors Solid understanding of SARS compliance Experience implementing accounting policies and procedures Knowledge of CIPC and Compensation Fund processes Experience in preparing management accounts Ability to complete annual VAT reconciliations Experience compiling and reviewing budgets and forecasts Stock management exposure is beneficial Ability to work independently and maintain strict confidentiality
