Job Description To deliver world-class packaging designs by delivering the best creative solutions to support the achievement of private label ranges and financial targets. To deliver and land newness and innovation for private label packaging in alignment with all critical paths. To develop brand-consistent packaging inline with all CI guidelines. To conceptualise and execute high-priority projects across multiple brands. To understand marketing trends and translate these into creative solutions to ensure competitor standout. To work closely and collaboratively within the team supporting the Packaging Manager, Account Managers, designers and clients to ensure smooth workflow and delivery of work while ensuring creative briefs are met. To be aligned with the status of work in progress at all times to ensure deadlines are met and manage own timelines. To present all creative artwork, ensuring work maintains an excellent level of quality and design. To mentor junior designers and DTP to ensure timeous delivery and correct interpretation of creative briefs/projects. Minimum Requirements Education Packaging Design qualification from a recognized institution (degree or diploma), or proven working track record in the retail design field specifically in the brand and packaging field. Job-Related Knowledge Solid understanding of industry print/technical standards Strong conceptual/design skills and style Ability to do 3D mockups/renders for presentations Mac literate, with technical proficiency in the latest Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) Job-Related Skills Photo retouching & editing (advantageous) Organised, excellent attention to detail, methodical approach Excellent time management Ability to multitask and work well under pressure Good written and verbal communication skills Team player Positive “can-do” attitude Willing to put in extra effort Job-Related Experience At least 5 years packaging and brand design experience with strong knowledge of concept artwork, finished art, and print & packaging processes At least 6 years graphic design experience in brand & packaging design Experience developing brands conceptually and carrying concepts through to finished art Experience designing and roll-out of all packaging design materials Competencies Deciding and initiating action Applying expertise and technology Presenting and communicating information Creation and innovation Delivering results and meeting customer expectations Adapting and responding to change Coping with pressure and setbacks Achieving personal work goals and objectives
