1. Technically strong, understand first principle calculations, execute/oversee designs and have attention to detail. 
2. Understand BOQs and how to populate BOQs
3. Be able to do a project schedule, understand the interconnectivity of the various activities and maintain the schedule for structural works.
4. Must have experience in most of the following:

• Apply the loading code, advantageous to have experience in crane and seismic loading.
• Structural steel design, including design of steel connections
• Reinforced concrete design
• Check drawings and bending schedules
• Masonry design
• Timber design
