About the Role

The successful candidate will be part of our team at Staff Solutions, assisting in the daily operations of our printing department as a Printer Assistant. This role requires a strong foundation in trade qualifications and computer literacy to ensure seamless machine operation and quality control.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Operator in setting up the printing machine according to best operating practices
  • Support the Operator with system feedback on Abaca and Shopware where applicable
  • Ensure optimal productivity by assisting during machine operation
  • Continuously monitor product quality and alert the Operator to any deviations
  • Operate the machine at a competent level in the absence of the Operator
  • Follow all instructions issued by the Supervisor
  • Motivate, guide, and support the machine crew to achieve performance targets
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards within the department
  • Comply with all ISO procedures and quality principles
  • Take a proactive role in initiatives to improve machine uptime and availability

Requirements

  • Computer literacy is essential (MS Office or internal systems)
  • Understanding of ink viscosity and colour matching processes
  • Must be:
  • Willing and able to work shifts and overtime as needed
  • Proactive, responsible, and reliable
  • Capable of working independently
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and consistency

Qualifications

  • Trade Qualification in Corrugated Board Printing and Finishing Machine Minding
