Johannesburg: Pumps Engineering Production Manager

A dynamic past paced Engineering company seeks a experienced Production Manager with relevant pump knowledge. The Production Manager will be responsible for the planning, organising, coordination and control of the production of the company to ensure that the highest production standards are maintained at the lowest cost. The candidate should have the ability to fulfill the requirements of the Quality Policy and Assurance Procedure Manuals, be competent to oversee the drawing office functions and provide technical assistance during the planning phase, assembly phase as well as to address and resolve technical related issues on site. The candidate should be able to implement measures to ensure that the various workshops are properly managed and controlled in order to ensure a high quality standard whilst ensuring that projected profits margins and growth is achieved. The candidate should be able to provide controls to ensure that the Company’s Production resources are correctly allocated, utilised and directed towards providing quality products that meet contract requirements and project delivery dates. Core Competencies & Abilities: Good general knowledge of pump applications, pump fundamentals, pumps operations and pump components High acumen for engineering concepts and mechanical engineering 5 – 10 years in a production environment overseeing the production facility from a design, planning and operating perspective. Exposed to business planning. Product and material knowledge, Metallurgy experience an advantage Ability to interpret manufacturing drawings would be an advantage Ability to change direction and handle multiple responsibilities and tasks on a regular basis. Ability to positively motivate individuals and teams to meet or exceed project expectations Exceptionally high level of commitment to the success of individuals and overall projects. Work ethics that complement the company’s long-standing culture of high integrity throughout all areas of internal and external business activity. Willing to put in extra effort and hours as needed. Excellent track record and experience in client communication and customer service. Result oriented with strong organizational skills Provide timely responses to both internal and external customers. Ensure quality of engineering/service support at customer sites. Determine and recommend improvements to systems and provide technical support Implement changes where required/necessary Forecasting requirements for resource utilisation Previous experience with ERP systems Management reporting Remuneration: R60,000.00 – R65,000.00 Basic salary car allowance R10,000.00
