Job Description
Cape Town – Western Cape – South Africa
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including NDAs, service agreements, partnership agreements and terms and conditions.
- Provide legal guidance on regulatory and compliance matters, particularly within the fintech and payments space.
- Support the business in navigating evolving legislation, including FICA, FAIS, FSCA, SARB regulations.
- Advise internal teams on legal risks, governance, and corporate policies.
- Liaise with external counsel or external compliance officers when necessary.
- Assist in drafting, reviewing and implementing internal compliance policies and procedures.
- Assist with performing due diligence on clients and third parties, including transaction monitoring.
- Assist in maintaining and improving internal legal processes.
- Stay current with developments in financial, crypto, and commercial law locally and internationally.
- LLB Degree and admitted attorney in South Africa.
- 24 years of post-admission experience in the financial, payments, or crypto space.
- Solid knowledge and experience in contract drafting and negotiation.
- Understanding of South African financial regulations.
- Must be based in Cape Town and willing to travel to the Foreshore office regularly.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
