Job Description
- Manage the daily operations of the parts department
- Lead, train, and motivate parts staff to achieve departmental targets
- Ensure accurate stock control, stock rotation, and minimisation of obsolescence
- Maintain optimal stock holding levels in line with OEM and dealership requirements
- Oversee parts procurement, ordering, and returns
- Work closely with the service and sales departments to ensure parts availability
- Monitor and improve parts sales performance and gross profit
- Ensure compliance with manufacturer standards and dealership policies
- Handle supplier relationships, pricing, and negotiations where applicable
- Manage parts department budgets, reporting, and KPI performance
- Resolve customer and internal queries efficiently and professionally
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and housekeeping standards
Requirements:
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in an automotive parts environment in the motor industry
- Proven experience as a Parts Manager or Senior Parts Supervisor within a dealership
- Strong knowledge of automotive parts systems and OEM processes
- Experience working on a Dealer Management System (DMS)
- Solid understanding of stock control, forecasting, and reporting
- Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills
- Strong numerical and analytical ability
- Ability to work under pressure in a high-volume dealership environment
Advantageous:
- Experience with premium or franchise brands
- OEM parts management experience
- Strong background in aftermarket and wholesale parts sales
- Exposure to multi-branch or group dealership operations
