About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Farm Manager to oversee the daily operations of our commercial farm in South Africa. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in agriculture, extensive experience in commercial farming, and expertise in high-value vegetable production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full operational management of farm activities (crop planning, planting, harvesting)
  • Supervision of irrigation, fertigation, and crop protection programs
  • Implementation of high-yield agronomic practices
  • Management of labour force (recruitment, supervision, productivity control)
  • Coordination of nursery and planting schedules
  • Monitoring crop performance and yield optimization
  • Implementation of GlobalG.A.P. and certification requirements
  • Coordination with procurement for seeds, inputs, and equipment
  • Post-harvest handling and quality control
  • Reporting: daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports
  • Cost control and productivity improvement
  • Collaboration with management on expansion phases

Requirements

  • Degree in Agriculture / Agronomy / Horticulture
  • 7–15+ years’ experience in commercial farming
  • Strong experience in:
  • Drip irrigation & fertigation systems
  • High-value vegetable production
  • Orchard management
  • Greenhouse / protected cultivation
  • Experience in Africa or similar climates preferred
  • Knowledge of GlobalG.A.P. or export standards
  • Strong leadership and labour management skills
  • Ability to work in remote farm conditions
