Job Title: FAW Truck Mechanic / Diesel Mechanic
We are seeking a qualified and experienced diesel mechanic to join our team in South Africa. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy-duty truck maintenance and repair.
Minimum Requirements:
A qualified diesel mechanic with Red Seal certification (preferred)
At least 35 years of experience working on heavy-duty trucks
Proven experience specifically with FAW trucks ( advantageous)
Key Skills and Competencies:
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, air brake systems, and truck electronics
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
Valid Code 10 or Code 14 drivers licence (advantageous)
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
Attention to detail and quality workmanship
Ability to work independently and under pressure
Good communication skills
Commitment to safety and compliance
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be required to work overtime, weekends, or on standby when necessary. This may include performing routine maintenance tasks, diagnosing and repairing complex issues, and providing technical support to colleagues.
