About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Cost Accountant to join our finance team. This role is ideal for someone eager to grow their career in accounting while gaining hands-on experience in project costing, invoicing, and stock costing.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with project costing and monitor budget vs. actual performance
Prepare and process invoices accurately and on time
Perform stock costing and support inventory valuation processes
Reconcile cost accounts and assist with month-end reporting
Support audits and compliance with accounting standards
Collaborate with project managers and operations teams to ensure financial accuracy
Assist with project quotes, monitoring of outstanding invoicing and quotes
Assist with project purchases, RFQs and monitoring of outstanding orders and deliveries
Stock lists maintenance and costing
Month-end processes relating to WIP, stock and Other matters as communicated from time to time

Requirements

Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
12 years experience in cost accounting or similar role (graduates with strong academic background will also be considered)
Strong analytical and numerical skills
Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software
Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
An understanding of projects and an interest in operations is an advantage.
Must be proficient in both Afrikaans and English
