Job Description
A large and prominent group of companies is seeking to employ a Senior Bookkeeper to their offices in Cape Town. This role’s main functions will entail managing the Cashbooks, Fixed Asset Registers, and Petty Cash. Please note that this is a maternity cover, however there exists a possibility for future permanent employment.
This established and diverse group has interests in the Engineering, Construction, Fabrication, Manufacturing, Logistics and Property sectors. They are looking for an experienced financial professional with an inquisitive, dynamic, and analytical nature to take charge of this role.
We are seeking a candidate who has acquired their National Senior Certificate and holds a Certificate or Diploma in Accounting, Bookkeeping or Finance related. Preferably, the candidate should possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in Accounting/Bookkeeping or in an Operational Finance capacity within manufacturing, engineering, or a related field. Familiarity with Syspro or similar ERP systems is advantageous, as is experience working within a group structure, with multiple entities and intercompany loan accounts.

This role will be a good fit for a candidate that likes to get involved in the numbers, but also the commercial and operational side of the business.
Purpose of the Role:
- To process all creditors documents and reconcile accounts according to intercompany standards and procedures. Simultaneously ensuring that all information and documentation required is efficient, accurate, completed, obtained and submitted for payment timeously.
- To process cash book/ inventory and other ad hoc monthly Journals and as required by the Financial Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Management of the following areas:
- Cashbook Management.
- Petty Cash.
- Fixed Asset Registers.
- Creditors / Accounts Payable and Debtors / Accounts Receivable.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Certificate/Diploma in Accounting or Bookkeeping.
- Minimum 5 10 years experience in all accounting functions.
- Previous working experience on SYSPRO most advantageous.
- Excellent time management and organising skills.
- Self-Motivated, Meticulous, and Deadline driven.
- Must demonstrate the ability to handle large volumes of data, information, projects and tasks at any given time and still be able to deliver quality work on time.
- Computer Literate in all MS Packages.
Remuneration:
- R240,000 to R360,000 pa, depending on experience.
