About the Role
IX Engineers is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in South Africa. As a key member of our electrical engineering department, you will be responsible for ensuring that all electrical engineering tasks and targets are achieved, in cooperation with other engineers and the Head of Department. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on various projects, including renewable energy designs, and contribute to the growth and development of our company.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively lead, participate, and contribute to the design and technical aspects of projects in order to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget and to specification.
- Paramount to this role is conceptualisation, design development, and producing detail design work, as well as delivering contract documentation, specifications, and drawings.
- Sign-off on engineering designs by taking professional responsibility as per ECSA guidelines for designs executed.
- Successfully manage small to medium size projects.
- Design of electrical and electronic building services for various types of projects including but not limited to power, lighting, fire detection, access control, CCTV, nurse call, PA, emergency services (generator/UPS), telecoms containment, fibre networks and solar PV/BESS systems.
Requirements
- 10 or more years of relevant experience post degree qualification.
- Experience in AutoCAD/REVIT, as well as scheduling software like MS Projects will be an added advantage.
- Proven ability to execute designs, work as part of a team, as well as manage small to medium projects.
- High level of general computer skills, e.g., MS Office suite of software, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering at a recognized institution.
