About the Role

Hire Resolve’s Client is seeking a dynamic and skilled Mechanical/fire Engineer to join their developing team in Cape Town. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for designing and engineering mechanical and fire protection system designs, ensuring compliance with local, national, and international fire safety codes.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Engineering: Develop mechanical and fire protection system designs, including sprinklers, hydrants, fire pumps, smoke control, and suppression systems.
Code Compliance: Ensure designs meet local, national, and international fire safety codes (e.g., NFPA, IBC, ASHRAE).
Risk Assessment: Conduct fire risk evaluations, hazard analysis, and safety inspections.
Project Management: Collaborate with architects, MEP engineers, and construction teams to integrate fire safety solutions effectively.
Testing & Commissioning: Oversee system testing, commissioning, and performance evaluations.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 3+ years of experience in fire protection engineering, mechanical design, or a related role.
Experience with fire suppression, smoke control, and mechanical fire protection systems.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and hydraulic calculation software (e.g., HASS, FHC, or similar).

Qualifications

Completed Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or a related field.
