About the Role
Hire Resolve is looking for Mill Electrical Engineering professionals to join our client’s team in Pretoria. If you have a minimum of 8 years experience in a Paper Manufacturing environment, we encourage you to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all electrical reticulation systems drawings and plant equipment schematics are up to date, available and relevant.
- Develop and enforce quality control plans for tasks based on agreed standards.
- Organize shifts in the electrical engineering department and call-out rotations when needed.
- Assist maintenance planners in defining work to be done for specific equipment, including required parts.
- Assist and train engineers and artisans to program and troubleshoot.
- Assist and train engineers and artisans on Breakers, contactors, and protective relays.
- Train artisans and supervisors on new standards and quality control plans for new equipment.
- Ensure correct tools and materials are specified and available for all scheduled tasks.
- Troubleshoot equipment failure and make recommendations to avoid repeating the problem in the future.
- Communicate with production when needed and inform them when the work is completed.
- Ensure equipment is handed back to production at agreed performance levels.
- Ensure leftover material and tools is returned and the work area is clean.
- Proactively identify potential equipment failures.
- Lead and undertake improvement projects in Electrical & Energy Fields and required.
- Proactive corrective actions from others with the necessary expertise.
- Participate maintenance meetings (e.g., in PM and BOM review) and improvement activities.
- Responsible for equipment root cause failure analysis and close outs.
- Maintain engineering standards for equipment and materials adopted as Mill standards and recommend improvements.
- Authorize overtime within the Engineering Department and make every endeavor to remain within the budget.
- Preventative maintenance of backlog/completion
- Equipment indicators (breakdown, availability, OEE, MTBF and MDT).
- Utilize and monitor JDE Maintenance system.
- Comply with ABB health, safety, and Environmental policies.
- Ensure 5 S (Housekeeping) practices.
- All other maintenance related duties as may be determined from time to time.
Requirements
- Matric/Grade 12 with a pass in Mathematics and Physical Science.
- Bachelor’s in electrical Engineering or similar field required.
- GCC Electrical obtained in a heavy process industry.
- Minimum 8 years in a Paper and paper Manufacturing environment.
- Innovative & initiative in the optimisation and development of process control systems.
- Knowledge in troubleshooting Siemens VSD, ABB (ACS 550, ACS 800, ACS 880 and ACS 580), DC Drives.
- Broad knowledge of 11kV distribution systems.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings.
- Knowledge of JDE and QPulse advantageous.
- Advanced computer skills (MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Outlook).
- Excellent written and verbal communication Skills.
- Project Management skills.
- Knowledge of OSHA standards.
