About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical/Mechatronic Engineer to support the design, optimization, and maintenance of mining systems and equipment. This role involves working with heavy machinery, material-handling systems, and automated mining technologies to improve efficiency, reliability, and safety across operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and modify mechanical and mechatronic components for mining systems (e.g., conveyors, crushers, screening equipment, mobile machinery)
- Support installation, commissioning, and performance testing of new equipment and system upgrades
- Conduct engineering calculations, equipment sizing, and failure analysis
- Develop technical drawings, specifications, BOMs, and project documentation
- Collaborate with electrical, automation, and production teams on integrated mining solutions
- Troubleshoot mechanical and mechatronic issues to minimize downtime and improve reliability
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, mining regulations, and engineering best practices
- Participate in continuous improvement, reliability engineering, and plant optimization initiatives
- Provide technical support to site teams, contractors, and project managers
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field
- Experience in mining systems, heavy industrial machinery, or material-handling equipment preferred
- Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD) and basic simulation tools
- Good understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, rotating equipment, and mechanical drives
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work on-site in demanding industrial or mining environments
