About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior BI Developer to join our team in Johannesburg. As a key member of our Business Intelligence function, you will design, develop, and maintain end-to-end business intelligence solutions that deliver accurate, reliable, and high-integrity data insights. You will work closely with analysts and business stakeholders to understand data needs, translate these into technical requirements, and drive best practices across the BI function.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build end-to-end BI solutions, integrating multiple data sources into the reporting data warehouse
- Extract, transform, and load data using Microsoft BI technologies
- Collaborate with end users and analysts to translate business requirements into technical specifications
- Estimate development effort and provide technical insights to management
- Support and enhance existing BI platforms and reports
- Reverse engineer, refine, and optimise BI processes
- Mentor junior BI developers and promote industry best practices
Requirements
- 3 years experience in ETL / BI Development within Microsoft BI Stack (SQL Server, SSIS)
- Strong technical experience: MS SQL Server, SQL, SSIS, DevOps, PowerApps
- 1 year report development experience using Power BI
- Advanced understanding of ETL methodologies and the full SDLC
- Experience designing BI solutions using Kimball methodology
- Strong knowledge of data modelling concepts
Qualifications
- Relevant qualification in Computer Information Systems with majors in Information Management, Finance, or Mathematics (NQF 6)
- Degree (NQF 7) preferred
