About the Role
The Business Development Officer will be responsible for providing business development support and financial administration for start-ups within the Business Development Support Unit. The role requires close collaboration with start-ups, partners, and internal stakeholders to facilitate smooth operations and ensure effective support services. The Intern will work under the supervision of the Business Development Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall administrative support for the Business Development Support Unit.
- Handle and respond to email inquiries.
- Assist with the coordination of events and training sessions for start-ups.
- Support in scheduling meetings with start-ups, partners and stakeholders.
- Evaluate online applications for the business incubation programme.
- Provide relevant business advisory services and information to start-ups.
- Conduct business assessments for incubated start-ups.
- Administer and compile monthly and quarterly reports.
- Assist start-ups with financial administration, including management accounts/finances.
- Support programme management activities.
- In collaboration with Marketing and Communications, ensure that credible success stories are published with start-ups profiled.
- Participate in events, meetings, workshops and conferences.
- Ensuring strong stakeholder relationship.
Requirements
- South African Unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 34.
- Must not have participated on the YES programme before.
- Matric.
- Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Entrepreneurship or a related field will be an added advantage.
