About the Role
Network Finance, a major force in the South African Retail sector, is seeking a Finance Operations Manager to bring intelligence, structure, and strategic clarity into their fast-moving retail ecosystem. Based in Paarden Eiland, Cape Town, this role is built for a finance leader who understands the heartbeat of retail: cost management, opex control, operational efficiency, and the financial viability of every store in the network.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead operational finance across a large national retail network
- Oversee cost management, opex control & budget ownership
- Manage large-volume budgeting cycles across multiple divisions
- Conduct trend analysis to influence strategy and business direction
- Model store viability, profitability & ROI for existing and new stores
- Deliver strategic finance reports to senior leadership and EXCO
- Conduct financial + operational performance analysis
- Strengthen controls, processes & financial discipline across all units
- Support strategic initiatives, retail optimisation & commercial decision-making
Requirements
- CIMA qualification either completed or in final stages essential
- Strong financial & operational experience within Retail or FMCG environments
- Proven experience in cost management, opex oversight, large-scale budgeting, business trend analysis (impacting strategy), store viability modelling & profitability, strategic deliverables & high-level reporting, and operational & commercial analysis
- Advanced Excel + modelling experience
- Strong communicator who can influence non-financial teams
- Analytical, structured, commercially sharp, and comfortable in high-speed environments
Qualifications
- CIMA qualification completed or final stages
