Job Description

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

A relevant tertiary qualification in Finance i.e. BCom Accounting or related
Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles
Minimum of 5 years’ senior accountant experience, preferably within the fruit packing industry

Effective handling of detailed information and consistent attention to detail
Must be self-starting and detail orientated
Structured approach to work and highly organized
The ability to take responsibility and show initiative
Ability to work well within a team but also highly functional on your own
Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects effectively

Good internal audit and risk technical skills
High level of integrity
Excellent communicator (written and verbal)

KEY ACCOUNTABILITY AREAS

Financial reporting

Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards (Full IFRS).
In addition, monthly divisional management accounts

Tax Compliance

Prepare and file tax returns and supporting monthly reconciliations

Audit Support

Assist with the preparation of the necessary documentation for internal and external audits

Budgeting & Forecasting

Assist with budgets and financial forecasts

Internal Controls

Assist with the implementation and maintenance of internal controls

Corporate Governance

Assist with board meeting agenda, resolutions and minutes of meetings
