About the Role
We’re looking for a meticulous Structured Cabling Technician to join our installation team deploying mission-critical dispatcher communication systems. If you take pride in perfect cable terminations and your work passes certification every time, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities
- Install structured cabling: Pull and route Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6a cables through cable trays, conduits, and ceilings;
- Terminate like a pro: Crimp RJ45 connectors and punch down to patch panels with 98%+ pass rate;
- Test and certify:Use Fluke or equivalent cable certifiers to verify every cable meets TIA/EIA-568 standards
- Cable management: Dress cables beautifully in racks with proper bundling and labeling;
- Document everything: Create cable schedules, label both ends, update as-built drawings
Requirements
- 3-5 years structured cabling experience (Cat5e/Cat6);
- Proven cable termination skills (RJ45 crimp and punch-down);
- Cable testing experience;
- South African ID or valid work permit;
- Clean criminal record;
- BICSI Installer 1 or 2 Certification;
Qualifications
- Manufacturer certifications;
- Expert knowledge: TIA/EIA-568, ISO/IEC 11801
