About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Unit Manager to lead our Critical Care Unit in Johannesburg. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for planning, monitoring, and coordinating unit operations to ensure high-quality patient care. Your expertise in critical care nursing will enable you to make informed decisions and drive positive change within the unit.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct ward rounds to ensure compliance with protocols, security, safe patient environment, policies, procedures, and Group’s patient care standards.
Inform and educate patients about the Group’s complaints procedure and The Voice patient experience platform.
Implement, monitor, and control service delivery processes according to quality standards, policy, compliance, and governance requirements.
Ensure alignment and implementation of end-to-end standard operating procedures/processes in line with hospital policies.
Build professional long-term relationships with internal stakeholders (Doctors, Nurses, Hospital Administrators).
Work with internal key leaders to build an escalation chain for internal crises (patient care and unit ops-related).

Requirements

3 years of managerial/supervisory experience in critical care nursing.
Experience within a private hospital environment is advantageous.

Qualifications

BLS Nursing Administration or relevant qualification.
Current registration as Registered Nurse with the South African Nursing Council.
Updated ACLS/PALS/ATLS advantageous.
