About the Role
We are seeking an energetic and motivated Assistant Lodge Manager / Field Guide Couple to join our luxury safari lodge in Zululand. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of guest service and safari experiences, while also supporting the daily operations of the camp.
Key Responsibilities
- Check-in & out guests
- Oversee Housekeeping
- Oversee chefs and Kitchen
- Run daily operations of camp & Staff
- Set tables with FOH team for mealtimes
- Room checks
- Stock takes & orders
- Invoicing
- Stock control
- Reservations
Requirements
- Grade 12
- Minimum of 1 year managerial experience at a 4 / 5* Camp
- A formal lodge management qualification will be an advantage
- Excel knowledge is essential as well as other Microsoft Office programs
- Interest in marketing & social media
- Able to handle in camp issues and use initiative and work alone and well under pressure
Qualifications
- Grade 12
- Minimum of 1 year managerial experience at a 4 / 5* Camp

As a Field Guide, you will be responsible for conducting guided safaris, driving and bush walks, ensuring the safety, comfort, and enjoyment of guests throughout their safari experience. You will also be responsible for creating compelling content for social media platforms through still and video photography.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting guided safaris
- Driving and bush walks
- Ensuring the safety, comfort, and enjoyment of guests throughout their safari experience
- Hosting guests with professionalism and enthusiasm, providing informative and engaging insights
- Facilitating guest transfers to and from safari destination when required
- Creating compelling content for social media platforms through still and video photography
- Assisting with general maintenance and upkeep of the lodge & reserve as well as safari vehicles.
Requirements
- Grade 12
- At least 2 years guiding experience at a 5* Lodge on a Big 5 reserve
- Minimum FGASA Level 2 Qualification
- DEAT registered
- CATHSSETA registered
- First Aid Level 1 certification
- Valid Drivers License with PDP (Professional Driving Permit)
- Excellent communication skills
