About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled and creative Head Chef to lead their kitchen and deliver exceptional food quality, consistency, and service. This role involves managing all kitchen operations, overseeing menu development, maintaining high hygiene standards, controlling costs, and ensuring seamless service in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily kitchen operations to ensure smooth and efficient service.
Lead and supervise the kitchen team with a hands-on management approach.
Ensure high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation.
Plan, create, and update menus based on customer preferences, seasonal availability, and culinary trends.
Monitor and check plating to maintain presentation and quality standards.
Manage stock levels, monitor usage, and place orders.
Control food costs through efficient planning and portion control.
Ensure all kitchen equipment is maintained and fully operational.

Requirements

Culinary qualification.
12 years of experience as a Chef or in a senior kitchen role.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Excellent understanding of food costing, hygiene standards, and kitchen operations.

Qualifications

Culinary degree or equivalent qualification.

Salary & Benefits

R13 000 – R16 000 per annum.
