Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Intern Safety Officer or Junior Safety Officer to join our team at Afri Transformers Durban. As an integral part of our supply chain and quality control department, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and improving health and safety plans, programs, and procedures in the workplace. You will also ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation, identify OHS-related training needs, conduct safety inspections and risk assessments, and provide logistics support to maintain, receive, and deliver goods on time.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and improve health and safety plans, programs, and procedures in the workplace
Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation
Identify OHS-related training needs in the workplace
Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments
Provide logistics support to maintain, receive, and deliver goods on time

Requirements

Logistical discipline focused on maintaining, receiving, and delivering goods on time
Incident investigation skills
First Aid auditor’s course
Samtrac or diploma (if applicable)

Qualifications

Matric (or equivalent) certificate (if applicable)
Incident investigation certification (if applicable)
First Aid auditor’s certification (if applicable)
Diplomas or degrees in relevant fields (if applicable)
