About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our team at AB Labour. The ideal candidate will assist with financial reporting and auditing functions, manage bookkeeping tasks using Pastel Accounting and Payroll, and ensure compliance with various regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with financial reporting and auditing functions.
• Manage bookkeeping tasks using Pastel Accounting and Payroll.
• Ensure compliance with auditing standards, EEAB, and Legal Practice Council requirements.
• Handle school audits and assist with tax submissions (PAYE, VAT, Income Tax).
• Manage UIF, COIDA, and liaise with the Master of the High Court when required.
• Operate and manage submissions via the SARS eFiling system.
• Support the accounting team in daily and monthly financial processes.

Requirements

• Grade 12 (essential).
• Preferably a degree in Accounting (advantageous).
• Proven experience in accounting and bookkeeping.
• Knowledge of Pastel Accounting and Payroll software.
• Up to date with changes in financial reporting, auditing standards, and industry regulations.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks.
