About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and adaptable Junior Accountant to join our dynamic team at Pillango Placements. As a Centurion, you will be responsible for taking ownership of day-to-day accounting tasks, working closely with the General Manager, and growing into a senior finance leadership role as the business develops.
Key Responsibilities
- Upload and allocate bank transactions in Xero and reconcile bank accounts
- Send customer statements and handle account queries
- Review and approve supplier bills
- Perform weekly supplier payments
- Conduct weekly market sales and stock checks, collaborating on stock control improvements
- Process monthly payroll and submit EMP returns
- Perform VAT reconciliations and prepare submissions
- Prepare and post monthly accounting journals
- Complete month-end reconciliations and prepare management accounts
- Coordinate all finance-related office functions
- Train and support office staff on finance processes
- Improve and document finance and admin procedures
- Liaise with auditors and ensure finance compliance
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting/Finance/Bookkeeping
- Studying towards or interested in CIMA/SAIPA/SAICA
- 2–5 years of experience in a finance role
- Working knowledge of Xero (or similar accounting software)
- Experience with payroll, VAT, and statutory compliance
- Strong Excel skills
- Attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Fluency in English and Afrikaans

- Diploma or Degree in Accounting/Finance/Bookkeeping
