About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join our team as a Centurion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in senior finance roles, with expertise in project and contract accounting, IFRS, and South African tax legislation. As a key member of our financial leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the full financial accounting function and providing strategic financial guidance to support business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the full financial accounting function, including general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end processes
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with IFRS
- Manage and maintain the integrity of financial records and reporting
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
- Prepare management accounts and deliver detailed variance analysis and reporting
- Manage financial oversight of multiple projects or contracts simultaneously
- Develop, monitor, and track project budgets, forecasts, and cost performance
- Analyse project variances and provide insights on financial performance
- Support project billing, invoicing, and revenue recognition processes
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and financial planning inputs
- Coordinate and manage internal and external audit processes
- Ensure compliance with SARS requirements including VAT, PAYE, and income tax
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls and financial governance processes
- Engage with auditors, stakeholders, and management on financial matters
- Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making
- Support and guide operational teams on financial processes and cost management
- Drive improvements in financial systems, reporting, and processes
Requirements
- BCom Accounting / Finance or equivalent (NQF Level 7)
- CA(SA) / SAIPA / CIMA or equivalent (advantageous)
- Minimum 10 years experience in senior finance roles
- Strong experience in project and contract accounting
- Solid knowledge of IFRS and South African tax legislation
