About the Role

An established and growing construction operation is seeking a highly experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of multiple residential and commercial construction projects. This is a senior, hands-on role requiring strong commercial acumen, decisive leadership, and end-to-end project delivery capability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overall planning, coordination, and delivery of multiple residential and commercial construction projects
  • Full ownership of project programmes, schedules, and milestones
  • Budget management, cost control, procurement planning, and cashflow oversight
  • Management of contracts, variations, claims, and subcontractor performance
  • Coordination and leadership of Site Managers, consultants, contractors, and specialist teams
  • Liaison with architects, engineers, quantity surveyors, and statutory authorities
  • Ensuring full compliance with local statutory regulations, health & safety standards, and quality requirements
  • Preparation of detailed progress reports and direct reporting to Directors
  • Proactive risk identification and mitigation across projects
  • Maintaining high standards of workmanship, delivery timelines, and financial discipline

Requirements

  • Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Project Management
  • Minimum 10 years proven experience delivering residential and/or commercial construction projects
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects concurrently
  • Strong financial, contractual, and commercial management capability
  • Proven leadership ability with experience managing multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to operate autonomously with clear decision-making authority
  • Prior experience working outside South Africa or elsewhere in Africa is highly advantageous

Qualifications

  • Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Project Management
  • Minimum 10 years proven experience delivering residential and/or commercial construction projects
  • Professional engineering or related qualification (if applicable)
  • Project management certification (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2) (if applicable)

Salary & Benefits

Salary (Net): ZAR 65,000 – 75,000 per month (Negotiable). Initial 2-Year Contract, renewable based on performance and project pipeline. Flights, accommodation, and work permits fully covered. Secure accommodation and full logistical support provided.
