About the Role
Gijima Holdings is seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to join our team in Western Cape. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for administering and maintaining Active Directory and Exchange, as well as providing third-level support for complex technical issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Active Directory and Exchange
- Perform domain and email system administration, including security and compliance
- Provide third-level support for complex technical issues
- Lead and execute infrastructure projects such as migrations, upgrades, and integrations
- Manage supporting technologies to ensure seamless interoperability
- Implement innovative solutions to meet customer requirements in consultation with architects
- Coordinate lab tests for upgrades and project deployments
- Document environments, implementations, and develop detailed work instructions
- Perform trend analysis and make recommendations for optimization
- Drive ongoing improvements and maintenance, including version management
- Adhere to Incident, Problem, and Change Management principles and processes
Requirements
- Advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Active Directory and related components: DNS, DHCP, IPAM, AGPMC, RODC, GPO, PKI, DFS, replication, delegation, security, and troubleshooting.
- Extensive knowledge of Enterprise Messaging systems, specifically Microsoft Exchange (up to at least Exchange 2016).
- Familiarity with Office 365, Intune, Mail Archiving, Defender, ADFS, ADLDS, ADCA, Azure AD, and AAD Connect (advantageous).
- Solid understanding of Windows Operating Systems and network fundamentals.
- Ability to identify automation opportunities and implement solutions using PowerShell scripting.
- Sound knowledge of the ITIL framework and its application in enterprise environments.
- Strong understanding of disaster recovery principles and testing methodologies.
Qualifications
- Minimum: Grade 12 or equivalent (suitably qualified as articulated in the Employment Equity Act).
- Preferred: Tertiary education (Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field).
