Job Description
- Overall supervision of offsite Raw Materials Store, including secondary packaging and divider cleaning
- Batch and FIFO all material, including cataloging regrind and issuing oldest bags first
- Overseeing the Goods Returns process for secondary packaging
- Return from customer
- Inspections for damages and scrap
- Notify business of damages
- Return to stock
- Identifying control risks and implementing measures to mitigate or eliminate risk (eg stock counts, stock movements, processes)
- Supplying main site secondary packaging and ensuring that all requirements are distributed on time
- Conducting weekly, monthly and yearly stock takes, including unplanned spot checks on stock
- Receipting and administration of raw materials stock, transactions through SAP
- Overseeing divider cleaning and ensuring sufficient dividers are available to the business
- Responsible for stock variances in raw materials and packaging
- Incoming inspection checks for packaging, when required ensuring specifications are met
- Pallets – dimensions
- Secondary packaging – dimensions and artwork
- Ensuring stock is handled correctly and all spillages and breakages are reported
- Maintenance of offsite equipment, divider cleaner, floor cleaner and operating equipment
- Ensuring shuttle truck is loaded timeously
- Ensuring internal and external customer satisfaction
- Overseeing waste management team
- Collection from plants
- Supplier collections
- Separation in conjunction with waste partners
- Ensuring correct documentation pertaining to invoicing, receipts and all other relevant documentation as per ISO standards (ISO 9001 and FSSC 22000)
- Day to day team management, divider cleaners, GRV processors, forklift drivers, packers and cleaners
- Continuous training and development of people, managing individual and team performance, compliance with HR and IR policies and procedures, adherence to training plans
- Ensure a safe work environment with excellent housekeeping standards maintained
Key Competencies
- Be in possession of a post Matric qualification in supply chain or relevant qualification
- Proven track record in the FMCG supply chain environment
- Knowledge of SAP would be advantageous
- Computer literacy, Excel, Word, Outlook
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with high levels of attention detail and accuracy
- Self-discipline and driven to succeed
- Ability to build relationships quickly and effectively

- Overall management of raw materials stores, on site and off site, including secondary packaging and divider cleaning
- Batch and FIFO maintenance of HDPE and all material, including cataloging regrind and issuing oldest bags first
- Management of GRV process
- Identifying control risks and implementing measures to mitigate or eliminate risk (eg stock counts, stock movements, processes)
- Management of raw material shuttle truck
- Conducting weekly, monthly and yearly stock takes, including unplanned spot checks on stock
- Responsible for stock variances in raw materials and packaging
- Incoming inspection checks for raw materials and packaging, ensuring specifications are met
- HDPE and PP – bag weights
- Pallets – dimensions
- Secondary packaging – dimensions and artwork
- Bags – dimensions and microns
- Decoration – colour and artwork
- Administration of raw materials stock, transactions through SAP
- Ensuring that raw materials are distributed on time and correctly to production departments
- Ensuring stock is handled correctly
- Maintain adequate buffers of secondary packaging to ensure ongoing supply and keeping procurement informed of decoration stock balances on a weekly basis
- Maintenance and management of offsite equipment ensuring due care is taken of assets, divider cleaner, floor cleaner and operating equipment
- Ensuring internal and external customer satisfaction
- Accountable for waste management
- Collection from plants
- Separation in conjunction with waste partners
- Supplier collections
- Selling to various third parties
- Waste reconciliations to SAP scrapping
- Ensuring correct documentation pertaining to invoicing, receipts and all other relevant documentation as per ISO standards (ISO 9001 and FSSC 22000)
- Departmental budgeting and forecasting, in conjunction with supply chain executive, wages, consumables, maintenance and projects
- Driving departmental projects to closure and ensuring efficiency gains are realized
- Managing department budget
- People management, continuous training and development of people, managing individual and team performance, compliance with HR and IR policies and procedures, adherence to training plans
- Ensure a safe work environment with excellent housekeeping standards maintained
Key Competencies
- Be in possession of a BCOM degree in supply chain or logistics
- Proven track record of warehouse management and performance excellence in the FMCG supply chain environment
- Well versed in SAP, able to troubleshoot easily in the system
- Solid understanding of the plastics and packaging industry
- Computer literacy, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with high levels of attention detail and accuracy
- Self-discipline and driven to succeed
- Ability to build relationships quickly and effectively
