Middelburg: Area Manager – Export Shipping

About the Role

You’ll benefit from leading a critical operational function, working with diverse internal and external partners, and shaping shipping, forecasting, and inventory accuracy across borders.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate export shipping operations, customs activities, claims, and insurance processes.
• Oversee Finished Goods Inventory (FGI), container bookings, break bulk bookings, and chartering activities.
• Lead monthly shipping and invoicing forecasts in collaboration with Commercial, Operations Planning, and Finance.
• Drive stakeholder engagement across internal departments and external service providers.
• Control freight expenses and ensure efficient export warehousing and staging prior to shipment.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and Incoterms.
• Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in MS Office and relevant shipping/logistics platforms.
• Solid understanding of global ports, shipping routes, and export operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or International Business (Diploma with MDP also considered).
