About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our team in Johannesburg, responsible for planning and executing preventative and breakdown maintenance across plant and equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on exposure to mechanical and electrical maintenance, with experience working on industrial machinery such as mills, conveyors, screens, pumps, or similar equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and execute preventative and breakdown maintenance across plant and equipment
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation faults to minimize downtime
- Maintain and improve maintenance schedules, procedures, and records
- Oversee routine inspections and ensure equipment operates within design and safety parameters
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve plant reliability and efficiency
- Coordinate external contractors and service providers where required
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, maintenance procedures, and statutory requirements
Requirements
- Experience in maintenance engineering or plant maintenance within an industrial, mining, or manufacturing environment
- Strong hands-on exposure to mechanical and electrical maintenance
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve faults independently
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronics OR Trade-tested Millwright qualification
