About the Role
As a quality welder, you will play a key role in ensuring that all welded components and assemblies meet required specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements. You will work in a busy fabrication workshop, collaborating closely with fabricators, engineers, and quality control personnel to deliver defect-free welding work that supports manufacturing excellence and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret and work from fabrication drawings and welding symbols to produce high-quality welded assemblies using the appropriate welding techniques.
- Prepare, fit, and weld metal components using manual and semi-automated welding processes.
- Inspect and test welded joints to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards, identifying and correcting defects where required.
- Maintain welding equipment and ensure all tools are kept in good working condition.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and contribute to a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment.
- Work closely with quality control teams to complete welding documentation and support continuous improvement of welding and fabrication processes.
Requirements
- Recognised welder qualification or relevant technical certification.
- Proven experience in industrial welding, including mig, tig, and arc welding.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols, and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Sound knowledge of welding safety standards and workshop practices.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work effectively within a team environment.
